Ms. Wendy Sharp

Ms. Wendy Sharp

Ms. Sharp is a seasoned clinician with over 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults. She is known for her warm, welcoming style and her ability to connect easily with clients of all ages. Ms. Sharp specializes in ADHD, emotional regulation challenges, mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, and phobias. She is committed to providing clients with concrete, evidence-based tools to support overall well-being.


Ms. Sharp strongly believes in partnership as the foundation of effective treatment.  Her clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Collaborative Problem Solving, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based techniques. She has extensive experience working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community and is dedicated to providing affirming, inclusive care.


Ms. Sharp earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and her master’s degree in social work from Howard University. She is licensed to practice in the state of Maryland.


In addition to her clinical work at Alvord Baker, Ms. Sharp serves as an Associate Investigator at the National Institutes of Health, where she conducts research on irritability, emotional dysregulation, and ADHD in children and adolescents. She has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on ADHD and has been an invited speaker at national and local conferences.


Outside of work, Ms. Sharp enjoys kayaking, swimming, and getting lost in a good book. She is the proud mother of two young adults.
