

With over 15 years working in the early education and counseling fields, Shelby brings a whole person, developmental approach to working with children and adolescents. She earned a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from Tulane University and holds a clinical license in Maryland. Shelby currently serves as a Mental Health Provider at Ivymount School, working within a multidisciplinary team to support students' social-emotional needs both individually and in groups.
Shelby specializes in working with children and adolescents, including individuals with Autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergence. Her approach to therapy is tailored to the individual client, drawing on their strengths and interests and best clinical practices.
Shelby uses CBT, DBT, and expressive modality informed interventions in her work with clients to develop strategies to address life challenges. Additionally, Shelby has extensive experience facilitating therapeutic and social-emotional skill building groups across clinical and educational settings.
Outside work, Shelby loves spending time with her husband and toddler, working on embroidery projects, and listening to audiobooks.
