Dr. Meghan Collins

Dr. Meghan Collins (she/her) is a licensed psychologist with over 8 years of experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy and assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Collins has a warm, authentic, and customized approach for working with each client that is culturally and developmentally attuned and builds upon individual and family strengths.


She is experienced and skilled in working with individuals with a wide range of presenting concerns including PTSD and other trauma-related conditions, mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, eating disorders, behavioral challenges, developmental delays, autism, and/or learning challenges. Dr. Collins has pursued extensive training in evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as trauma-focused interventions for children and adults including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy Prolonged Exposure (DBT PE).


Dr. Collins has a special interest in early childhood interventions and empowering parents with evidence-based strategies to support their young children’s needs. Dr. Collins has completed specialized training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) to treat trauma-impacted young children, and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to treat young children with behavioral challenges. She greatly enjoys working with parents to strengthen their relationship with their children and reduce family stress and is trained in parenting interventions including Parent Management Training (PMT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and Circle of Security Parenting (COSP).


Dr. Collins earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Yale University, where her research and clinical training specialized in how exposure to adversity affects neurodevelopment. She completed her doctoral internship at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford/ Children’s Health Council and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at The Center for Child and Family Traumatic Stress at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Collins is licensed to practice psychology in Maryland and DC.


Outside of work, Dr. Collins is an avid reader and enjoys hiking, biking, and traveling the world with her family.
