Normal sleep sometimes feels as if it's in the eye of the beholder. This workshop will review what we know about developmental sleep trajectories, sleep vulnerabilities in behavioral disorders and in midlife transition and when to see a sleep specialist for aid in management of sleep quality optimization.


Learning Objectives


  1. Participant will learn what screening questions to ask children and adolescents to determine if Sleep quantity or quality indicates a sleep disorder.

  2. Participant will become familiar with primary pediatric disorders and how to determine if the pediatric & adolescent complaint of excessive daytime sleepiness is a problem of insufficient sleep or potentially a central hypersomnia.

  3. Participant will become familiar with first line treatments for common pediatric sleep disordered presentations and when to refer.
