We stand with and support Black people and those who protest the police brutality
and systemic racism that have led to the current crisis in our country.

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), Alvord, Baker & Associates is currently only providing services via telehealth. While we do not have a re-opening date for in-office services as yet, we are monitoring recommendations from the CDC, the Maryland Department of Health, and Montgomery County in order to assess and adapt our offices to accommodate and protect you as well as our staff.  We will continue to provide updates on our website. Please check back frequently. In the meantime, we will continue to offer telehealth whenever possible and mutually agreed upon.  All telehealth sessions are conducted via HIPAA-secure video platforms.  You may also find these articles helpful: Promoting Resilience Among Children and Teens During the Covid-19 Pandemic by Drs. Welcome to Alvord, Baker & Associates

Alvord, Baker & Associates, LLC is a unique, caring and innovative psychotherapy practice founded by Drs. Mary Alvord and Patricia Baker in 1983. We specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments. Our practice offers individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults as well as therapy for couples, families, and groups. Additional services include psychological evaluations and school consultations.

We are well aware that the decision to seek help from a mental health professional is not an easy one.  From the first phone call, each of our therapists will take the time to understand and help clarify needs. We work with individuals and families continually to develop and hone therapeutic goals and plans.
