Full-time Psychologist and Part-time Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker
We are a group private practice focusing on evidence-based therapy, research, and training. Given waitlists and high client demand, we have additional clinical openings for one full-time and one part-time (minimum 10 patients per week) psychologist or experienced clinical social worker to join an innovative, fee-for-service practice with two office locations (Rockville and Chevy Chase, MD). We are currently hybrid and many clinicians plan to keep at least one day virtual. Providers are employees, thus we pay taxes and benefits. Highly compensated
Positions are available starting July, until filled. Must be licensed in Maryland by start of position (Maryland does not require a postdoc to be licensed- but you must first complete internship and graduate from an accredited program). Psychologists must also meet qualifications for PSYPACT. Practice will pay PSYPACT application fees. Positions primarily involve psychotherapy and requires strong CBT skills, including exposure-based therapies and experience working with children and adolescents. We see patients from age 3- 70s. Position includes individual and group therapy as well as range of other opportunities (e.g. we have an “interaction” room for PCIT and also provide testing services). Given ABA’s reputation for quality evidence-based services in the DMV area, there are a variety of clinical presentations and diverse populations that contact the practice. Such variety in case referrals has allowed for our clinicians to personalize their caseload, grow in their treatment specialties, and have professional autonomy to add to the evidenced-based interventions offered through the practice. See our website www.alvordbaker.com to for an idea of the range of services we offer. The position requires working two evenings per week as well as 24 -26 Saturday mornings per year for our group therapy. We provide training for the group therapy program known as the Resilience Builder Program®.
The practice is involved in a collaborative research program with Catholic University and Resilience Across Borders, Inc. measuring outcome of the Resilience Builder Program-Universal™ in schools. See NPR article about the original RBP program: www.npr.org. Many in the practice also collaborated on a book on Exposure Therapy https://amzn.to/2LA3Px0. There are many opportunities!
Our staff meets monthly for staff meetings and weekly for peer case consultations. We provide weekly individual case consultation for the first two years. As APA approved sponsors of CE (continuing education), we offer multiple in-house seminars and workshops throughout the year (all CE requirements can be accrued on-site!). Clinicians are well-compensated W-2 employees and receive benefits such as 401K, paid sick/vacation time for all employees, and a monthly allowance for health care for full time employees.
