This continuing education activity meets the criteria for Cultural Competency/Ethnicity training (3 credits), as required by licensing boards in various jurisdictions.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL/TARGET AUDIENCE: This is an intermediate level training and is best suited for mental health practitioners (e.g., psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists) who are motivated to offer culturally responsive care to clients of color.
Culturally stressful events (CSEs) capture the moments individuals feel they experience negative judgment, mistreatment, or denied opportunities due (in part) to their cultural background. CSEs unfortunately continue to be social, emotional, and cognitive stressors that persons of color (POCs) are tasked with learning to navigate in their daily lives.
