The clinical research coordinator position has research and continuing education responsibilities. The clinical research coordinator will coordinate data collection for a study of a resilience-based intervention, the Resilience Builder Program® (RBP), at schools within Washington, DC metro area serving students who are often underserved. The clinical research coordinator will be involved in a study training school personnel to administer the intervention and to assess feasibility of the intervention. Research responsibilities include: overseeing research efforts and collaborations with NIH, Catholic University, Research Across Borders, Inc., and local schools, assisting with recruitment, helping with grant applications and literature reviews, and data management/entry. The clinical research coordinator also helps with clinical duties such as greeting clients and processing financial transactions. Further, s/he will assist in the preparation and appropriate documentation for our APA-approved Continuing Education workshops. Opportunities to collaborate on research publications and conference submissions are available outside of regular work hours. Further clinical opportunities (e.g., co-leading therapy groups) are negotiable.
We have two offices, in Rockville and Chevy Chase, MD (www.alvordbaker.com). Clinicians include 15 psychologists and 4 clinical social workers, who provide individual, family, testing, and group services to children, teens and adults. In addition to providing clinical services, we provide professional development including a 2- year Cognitive Behavior Therapy Training Institute and regular APA approved continuing education programs. A unique aspect of this practice is a partnership with Research Across Borders, Inc. and Catholic University of America to conduct research on a universal teacher led implementation of the Resilience Builder Program® (RBP) at several schools in the Washington D.C. metro area.
The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field, with a preference for those with a Master’s degree in Psychology. Two-year minimum commitment required. Salary is competitive and includes benefits. Some unique benefits include access to APA approved continuing education programs offered throughout the year and the ability to gain clinical experience through co-leading groups, if desired. Position opens July 1, 2021 in the Rockville office (in-person work permitting improvement with COVID, otherwise remote work until we open), but candidate may start as late as end of July. Training will be provided by current clinical research coordinator who is moving on to start her Ph.D. program!
